This is a warm-up activity for the "Vertical Village" exhibition in 2009, presenting MVRDV's radical architecture designs, proposals for urban planning, and research programs. Well-known for their avant-garde works, MVRDV develops their rational design process through solid field study and data analysis and believes that the research-based approach is the driving-force toward innovation, with a strong focus on social and environmental integration and impacts of buildings. In this exhibition, therefore, visitors would have a great understanding of how MVRDV carries out the projects and feel their imaginative visions of city landscapes and buildings through twelve animations and videos.

There are two series in this exhibition. The "Future City" shows the impressive conceptual plans through visualizing previous massive data analysis and research, such as "Grand Paris" presenting their radical urban plans of Paris in 2030. In addition, the "Geometric City" demonstrates the ideas and concepts of each eye-catching project they have done, such as the transformation of public market in Rotterdam.
